Biography

Julien Bras, a distinguished professor and researcher at Grenoble INP - UGA in France, is a leading expert in cellulose and nanocellulose-based materials. With a PhD in Renewable Resources Science, he drives innovation in sustainable biomaterials, biocomposites, and eco-friendly packaging solutions. Prof. Bras specializes in nanocellulose production, chemical surface modification, and material functionalization, pioneering advancements in bio-based active packaging with antimicrobial, barrier, and conductive properties.

Recognized globally, Prof. Bras’s work fuels the bioeconomy and smart packaging sectors, securing him prestigious honors like the TAPPI Nanocellulose Mid-Term Career Award and the Major Prize of Innovation from the French Academy of Science.
